Frequently Asked Questions Is it less expensive if I clean the skull before sending it to you? There is a price difference if the skull is cleaned before we get it. To be cleaned, you must remove all the hide, eyes, lower jaw, and any excess meat.
Can I ship my skull to you? Yes. We do recommend freezing the skull and using expedited shipping to get it to us in a timely manner.
How long does it take to get my skull back? Normal processing should take about 2 to 3 weeks including shipping time. During hunting seasons and just after that, it could take up to 3 months.
After I harvest the animal, what do I do with the head? Cut it off as close to the skull as possible. Bag it and freeze it.
What are the advantages of Dermestid Beetles versus boiling a skull? With boiling, you create cracks in the skull lines. The grease from the fat will work it's way into the skull and create a yellowing effect that you will not be able to completely bleach out.
